The Fundamentals course will provide a solid base for understanding the anatomy and physiology of fascia, and offer techniques to work on key areas of the body where most clients have issues. We will begin with an introduction into the world of fascia and Myofascial Release Therapy.
This may introduce a whole new perspective of how the body is designed when you understand that everything is interconnected through fascia, and that fascia creates our form and structure. Next we will learn techniques for key areas of the body so you can begin to create change in common holding patterns in the body. We will cover the head, neck, shoulders, back, hips and abdomen.
The course is held over two days and the days will run from 9am to 5pm. Please arrive at 8:45am the first morning so you can get acquainted with the space and we can get set up.
There will be a 15 minute break in the morning and in the afternoon, and an hour break for lunch each day. A light morning and afternoon tea will be provided consisting of nuts, fruit, chocolate, tea and coffee.
A comprehensive manual is provided with everything that is covered in the course including step by step instructions of how to do each technique. There are blank pages in the manual for taking notes.
Wear comfortable clothes and bring layers. The room is kept warm so it is comfortable when students are on the table receiving bodywork. Please do not wear any perfumes, lotions and little or no makeup.
You are welcome to bring your lunch and eat at the venue or go to one of a number of cafes close by. Most venues have a refrigerator and microwave available.
What to Bring:
1. Please bring a set of linens, either sheets or towels for the tables and our exchanges. This can be a set of single sheets or 2-3 bath towels used to cover the table and the student on the table. Also bring a pillow case and a hand towel for special draping.
2. If you have a portable table you can bring please let me know. The venue does not have massage tables so we need to supply our own.
3. Bring a water bottle to stay hydrated. Also you can bring any favorite snacks to help you keep your energy levels high.
Most importantly bring an open mind and enthusiasm to experience what might be a new paradigm in working with the body.
